| · How can I listen to some of your music? Click on Music by Stephen and look for where it says either Windows Media, Real Player or MP3. These are the formats that you can listen to my tracks in. Choose the format you want to use and click the link. This will take you to a list of songs/videos. Click on the song you want to hear. You will then be taken to that song's page. You then need to click one more time to make the song play. It sounds longwinded but it's really not! [ Back to Top ]

| · Do you have a recording studio? Yes, I have converted the loft of our home into a studio. It's not very big. There's no room for drums or an orchestra! I have a very fast computer with lots of hard drive space. I mainly use software instruments and samples, but I do play guitar and bass. Have a look at the recording studio page. [ Back to Top ]

| · What music software do you use? Best to have a look at the recording studio page and read the full spec if you are interested. But I generally use Cubase SX or Nuendo for multitrack recording and Soundforge for post production. I have loads of VSTis including Steinberg's The Grand, Absynth, Halion and Ampitube. | · Are you in a band? No not currently. I have been in bands for most of my life. I started out with my brothers when I was about 10. We called ourselves The Barnes Brothers because we lived in an area called High Barnes.
Then I moved on to be in a school band called Running Riot which evolved after a few years into a comedy band called A Tribe of Toffs. See the link.
Later I met Matt and Ben Hales and Matt V-B and we became The Gravel Monsters. We eventually came to our senses and called ourselves Ruth. We were signed to ARC and released about 5 singles before leaving in 2000. We decided on a change and renamed ourselves The 45s and signed to Mercury Records.
Unfortunately we released two failed singles and did one big tour with Shed Seven before being dropped by the record company. By this time we had been going for 10 years and we all felt it was time to give it up. So in March 2002 we called it a day and I have been bandless ever since. [ Back to Top ]
